Preserve. Promote. Protect.

About us

The American Bashkir Curly Horse Registry (ABCR) was founded in 1971 and is the oldest Registry of American Bashkir Curly Horses. The ABCR has registred about 4,000 Full, 750 Straight and 750 Part Bred Curly Horses within the past 42 years and is the largest Registry for American Bashkir Curly Horses worldwide.

The goal of the ABCR is to preserve this rare breed (approximatley not more than 4,000 animals worldwide), to promote the Curly Horses as much as possible on shows and in the media, also giving educations about the special features of these horses, and to protect the genetic pool of the small breed population worldwide.

The ABCR is operated by volunteers and registered as a 501c5 Corporation.
