TORONTO ROYAL WINTER FAIR Marlene and Bruce Tilson
Marlene and Bruce have just finished their tenth year with having their booth for ten days in November/ at the Toronto Royal Winter Fair representing their Farm and thrie Curly Horses. This is the biggest agriculture and Equine event in Canada. The culmination of all the other horse shows including Spruce Meadows and The Calgary Stampede. It is attended by Royalty and where all the whole year;s trophies and money prizes are given out for the best in horsemanship for every event. Bruce thought that the crowds were greatly down in numbers, but he did manage to make some interesting contacts, with people who seemed interested in learning about Curlies. Many curly breeders stop by our booth...it is so good to see them. , and have a chat. This next year will see, if they prove to be good ones. Sales have been slow , and really not very good in Northern Ontario for the past few years now. Marlene thinksmostly is due to the bad economy all over the world. Horses are not at the top of any family’s priority list, when food has to be put on the table. Marlene says: " ...But we at Tall Trees Farm are enjoying all 28 of our Curlies. Watching them grow, and enjoying seeing them all have fun on the farm. It gives us reason to get up each morning, and go outside in the fresh air ,and get the excerise we need . No lack of things to do…we will never be bored. We wish to say “Merry Christmas” to everyone , and hope next year is a good one . Take care Curliest Regards, Bruce & Marlene Tilson.
