This year, the American Bashkir Registry is very pleased to induct a most deserving equine into the Performance Division of the Hall of Fame: PLC Buddy’s Surprise ABC 3183 PLC Buddy’s Surprise was bred by Brian and Sandy Kerr of Pony Lake Curlies in Claremore, OK, and was purchased by Jeff and Sue Davis in 2004. While owned by the Davis’ he participated in numerous parades, breed demonstrations in multiple states, horse shows and logged many trail miles. He has been a very popular ambassador for the American Bashkir Curly horse and turns many heads where ever he goes due to his unusual smoky black coloring and his long mane, forelock and tail.
In 2012 he was purchased by High Desert Equine, LLC (owner, Joan Olson) where he continues to participate in breed demonstrations, parades and shows. This talented all-around horse has also become a lesson horse at High Desert Equine. His lesson categories include English, Western, Dressage and Jumping, and his riders have ranged from the age of four to seventy.
At seventeen years of age, he continues to be an amazing ambassador. He has been shown extensively in open shows and participated in all of the Curly Horse Breed Shows that were held in the Midwest between 2001-2009 with multiple wins and championships to his name. He is a multi-time winner of the American Bashkir Curly Performance and Versatility Horse Championships as well. He has had a long and successful career that makes a strong statement for the talent, versatility, beauty and amazing disposition of the American Bashkir Curly horse.
